Picasso at the Lapin Agile recognized by WODL
Theatre Woodstock's recent production of Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile directed by Jason Paquette and produced by Nancy Ripley was recognized by the Western Ontario Drama League preliminary adjudicator Dennis Johnson when he announced several awards and nominations Saturday afternoon in Galt. Dennis Johnson made several nominations to recognize the work of the cast and crew. Barrie Atkinson as Gaston was nominated as Best Supporting Actor. Dan Grass as Schmendiman and Jeff Teolis as a Visitor were recognized as Most Promising New Actors. Jason Paquette was recognized for Outstanding Lighting Design and Execution. The Properties team of Maria St. Laurent, Nancy Ripley, Jason Paquette and Cathy Groulx were recognized for Outstanding Properties / Design / Acquisition. In addition to these nominations Theatre Woodstock also received three awards. Vanessa Quesnelle received the Award for Outstanding Performance by a Juvenile for her portrayals of Suzanne and a female admirer. Jason Paquette received the award for Outstanding Sound Design and Execution. The entire Cast and Crew received the Outstanding Ensemble Production Award. These awards will be presented at the end of the WODL Festival being held from March 10 to 15 in Galt. This year Theatre Woodstock had chosen not to make their production an entrant for this final festival and was delighted with the recognitions given to their cast and crew for their fine level of performances. Theatre Woodstock's next production is Here on the Flight Path by Norm Foster which will be presented at The Market Centre April 26 to May 3.
