A Delicate Balance
By Edward Albee Directed by Maruti Achanta
January 18-27, 1973
A Delicate Balance maintains a balance between fact and fancy, sanity and insanity, between friends and family, drunkenness and alcoholism. We leave the Theatre with the knowledge that these are not lost souls because they do recognize the disease of our age: opulence, boredom, emptiness, frustration and despair.
"We must always envy someone we should not, be jealous of those who have so much less", and again, "Do we dislike happiness? We manufacture such a portion of our own despair such busy folks."
